Blindness in A Clockwork OrangeIn the novel, A Clockwork Orange, Anthony Burgess has tried to show the importance of individual immunity over doing the right thing. He has taken an extreme example of violence and perverse acts to accent his strong belief. It is my opinion that Burgess has been blinded to some all important(p) truths in his quest to ensure personal freedom. Personal freedom can be described as acting upon your give birth accord and not congruous restricted by the social paradigm in which you live. This is definitely a noble cause, all men should have the right to choose the path of their own lives. You may have the right to choose your own actions, but you are not allowed to impose your freedom on others. This is the point at which Burgess supposititious view becomes hypocritical. Alex has forced himself into the personal freedom of others and in doing so is no better than the state which rehabilitated him. If one imposes himself on the personal freedom of anoth er violently, a reaction will occur. If a rabid dog wanders around your neighborhood, do you let it continue to do so? The dog as you once knew it was an lovesome creature always playing with the children and never once threatened the mailman, but today it threatens the lives of everyone in your community. The dogs life is ended and it is freed from its disease. Alex is drear much alike a rabid dog, he is perverse and though it may not be his fault, much like it was not the dogs fault of becoming rabid, his threat on others has to be neutralized. I question the actual freedom Alex believes he has. He seems to be oppressed by his ablaze sickness and perverseness. Alex is a slave to his supposed freedom, which is dictated by the feelings of the other people whos... ...y of the 1940s. The fact that the book was taken from a juvenile point of view, which whether we like it or not is associated with naivet and innocence, also downplayed the violent acts which were occurring. In the movie it is not as easy to identify with Alex, due to the fact that he is portrayed as an adult. I then took notice of the parallel to this power of propaganda theme, which was illustrated through out section two. Alex is given the Reclamation Treatment, the use of propaganda films and drugs for reflex conditioning, which addresses fears of brain washing plain in that era. For me this is a much stronger theme than the freedom of choice one, which I addressed earlier in the essay. I am not certain precisely what Burgess was trying to show with this book, all I know is that it revealed to me what propaganda can accomplish if it is done correctly.

Most of the time I dont have the energy to remember. If I do get plenty time to start to think about that kind of thing I am much more likely to just fall asleep. I hazard that is what happens with responsibility, you lose time to remember who you are and what makes you happy. I guess it sounds like I am complaining but Im not. Not really. I am much happier now. I guess I should tell the whole story. If this is for history because it should be complete. In those early days we all lived in simple beauty and happiness. We were ignorant of things beyond our own pleasure. I would spend days academic term outside and talking to frien ds. I would make wonderful bags, and jewelry. I loved working with the bark of the trees near my house. It gave me a real connection to nature. Well, what I musical theme was nature. I had lots of friends we would go to the beach and swim in the surf. I can still almost taste the bitter vinegar taste the nautical had. We never had to cover up we went wearing what was comfortable, usually null at all. We had no need for modesty we were all the same. Not that we looked alike but at that place was no sexual difference. We were all women. This paradise was perfect and regular until the day that everything went dark. When these are placed together in the same poem, it creates an effect that there is a leaf falling from a tree to the ground where it will be lonely because it will be quarantined from the tree. Cummings emphasizes the image of being alone or aloof by using two versions of the word one. On the first line, he uses the letter l, which also looks like the number 1. Why Do Students Often Drop Out of College?

STUDENTS DROPPING OUT OF COLLEGEAs we know that, the Vietnamese society has changed so much for the past decade, which causes some positive effects as well as negative issues in the education system. Some research has shown that the rate of scholarly persons falling out of college has been increased remarkably recently. There are some possible reasons causing this issue, which will be discussed in form of objective and subjective point-of-view in the following part. First and foremost, from the objective point-of-view, some colleges or universities present their illegal accreditation or license expired after a period of time.Raffles Ho chi Minh City College of Design and Commerce, as a particular example, has its bachelor degree programs unaccepted by Ministry of Education and Training in Vietnam at the beginning of 2012, which have caused damage to the students studying at there and the students graduating from there. They had to choose either continue their study in another co untry such as Singapore or start all over at another college. Moreover, another reason is possibly because a university or college does not have enough facility for supporting(a) the students in during practice of their study.For example, in the biological science lab, students need new technology and machines for studies yet the college does not have enough for everyone while it is hard to learn biology just by reading books and looking at pictures. On the other hand, subjectively, students interest is changing very often. They may find the current major not fit with their interest, ability and health after studying for awhile because the lessons are too difficult and boring that students cannot handle and do not have the emotional state to study.Furthermore, some students prefer finding a ancestry and making money to studying lessons. By earning some money, students can afford what they need and receive jobs and real lifes experience. Therefore, those students may not have eno ugh time to follow and understand all of their lessons when the exams come. After retaking assay too many times, students get tired and they may quit. To sum up, the problem which students dropping out of college is one of the toughest problems we have in education, not only in our country but also in others, has both objective and subjective point-of-view causes.There are some reasons come from colleges issue or ourselves. Physical Privacy remediates in the workplace As soon as you raise your right hand in the Military you lose many rights. Just to name a few the right to wear your hair long grow a beard and or a full mustache the right to attend a political rally the right to express your first amendment rights, and many others. in that respect are some I agree with and some I dont never the less I support the militarys cosmopolitan reasoning. I support the right to privacy, and the military in most cases try to comply with the privacy of individuals. One is do drugs testing. We are human and I run across that some folks become weaker will than others.I have witnessed good men and women in the military lose their careers over the use of drugs. I agree with drug testing and everyone in the military should be drug free. There are many factors in my reasoning. There is espionage. Some may do anything for drugs even buckle under up their Governments secrets. Safety is another factor weather they w ork with weapons or machines the risk level is much higher with someone who is impaired. On another note I believe in the privacy of an individual that tests positive for drugs. The word always seems to get out to others.I agree that we can posit to other Soldiers that an individual tried positive and will be dealt with legally, as a deterrent for others. But to have everyone know who the individual was and what drug they tested positive for is just wrong. In the past they use to ask what medications are you currently taking? That is a private matter of the individual. If the Soldier tests positive for a controlled substance that happens to be prescribed medication, all the Soldier needs to do is provide proof. Now they do not ask that question anymore. So they have yielded to the right of privacy in that perspective.They still need to work on the privacy for the ones that come up positive. There are many ongoing issues that coruscation controversy from time to time. Another is t attoos and body piercing. Now days tattoos and body piercing are more common then when I was growth up, especially with todays youth. For them its like a sign of maturity. Even so that the Army and other Armed Forces have relaxed their entrance requirements and leave tattoos on forearms, necks, and legs. However, the Army will still not accept any gang related, or racist tattoos. If a Soldier is caught with any of these tattoos they will be discharged from the military.Body piercing also is prohibited. I see more new Soldiers with tattoos then I ever seen in my career. What does this do to us old timers? It makes us think that the old known good order and discipline is slowly fading. I see young male Soldiers with earring holes in their ears. I even caught a young Soldier wearing an earring on duty. I told him he had five seconds to take it off or else He complied. I believe that this is todays norm, but is society slowly slipping too far? How about going to a lawyers office and s eeing a lawyer with an earring and tattoo on his neck? Ive seen lawyers with earrings before.But how professional is this? I personally would not like to be represented by someone like that. A judge may discriminate and it may cause someone to lose a case. Other issues are perception. Looking at someone with multiple tattoos may give people a bad first impression on an individual. These young Soldiers will someday leave the Army and look for a job. The tattoos may cause them a job. They can be highly qualified, but they are still subject to discrimination. When I see a young Soldier dictum that he or she is going to get a tattoo, I tell them to think about it real well. Think of how it may affect their future.
